Dr. Sorin Joseph Brull professzor a West Virginia egyetemen végzett, majd aneszteziológus rezidensi programját a Yale Egyetemen teljesítette. 1988 és 1998 között a Yale Egyetem, 1988 és 2002 között az Arkansasi Egyetem Aneszteziológus professzoraként tevékenykedett. 2002-től a Mayo Florida aneszteziológus professzora.
Fő kutatási területe a neuromuszkuláris junkció farmakológiája, a neuromuszkuláris blokk monitorozása és annak szerepe a betegbiztonságban. Tudományos munkássága: 231 közlemény, 4153 citáció, H-index: 31. Számos, nemzetközileg is meghatározó USA-beli és globális szakmai társaság meghatározó tisztségviselője. A vezető aneszteziológiai folyóiratok szerkesztő bizottsági tagja és section editora volt. Számos, a szakterületet érintő globális fejlesztő cég tudományos tanácsadója, illetve alapító tagja.
Egyetemünk Aneszteziológiai és Intenzív Terápiás Tanszékével 2005-től áll kapcsolatban. Az együttműködések eredményeként a DE AITT részt vett egy jelenleg már a globális piacon is megjelent neuromuszkuláris monitor kifejlesztésében. Meghatározó szerepe volt Brull professzornak abban, hogy a további fejlesztési irányok kialakításában az AITT is részt vesz és jelenleg a monitor csecsemők és gyermekek számára történő alkalmazásának fejlesztése folyik. Brull professzor évi 2-3 alkalommal személyes látogatást is tesz az intézetünkben, és eszközbeszerzésekkel, illetve innovatív kutatási eszközökkel segíti az AITT-n a tudományos kutatást. Brull támogatta és támogatja az intézet fiatal kutatóinak tanulmányútjait a Mayo Aneszteziológiai Intézetében.
Professor Sorin Joseph Brull graduated at University of West Viginia and completed his anesthesiology residency program at Yale. Between 1988 and 1998 he was staff anesthetist at Yale University followed by a period at the University of Arkansas where he worked as a professor of anesthesiology between 1998 and 2002. In 2002 he was professor of anesthesiology at the Mayo Clinic Florida.
Professor Brull’s main research interest are pharmacology of the neuromuscular junction, monitoring neuromuscular block and patient safety in anesthesia. Description of his research activities: 231 publications, 4153 citations and H-index of 31. He is member of several, important american and global anesthesiological societies, editorial board member or section editor of the most important anesthesiology journals. He is founder or advisory board member of several global innovation company in the field of anesthesiology.
Professor Brull started his cooperation with the Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, Department University of Debrecen in 2005. As the main result of this cooperation the Anesthesiology Department of our university participated in the development of a new, innovative neuromuscular monitoring device. Meanwhile this monitor is on the global market. At the present stage, due to the intensive cooperation a further development of the monitor is running, including pediatric monitoring studies.
Professor Brull regularly visits our university and contributes to the activity of neuromuscular research group both with planning common projects and with providing innovative devices. He is very active in supporting visits of young fellows from University of Debrecen at the Mayo Clinic.
