The Same-day Ophthalmology Centre of the Clinical Center of the University of Debrecen plays a significant role in providing ophthalmological care in the region. At the Center’s two locations, we perform approximately 60,000 outpatient examinations and nearly 4,000 surgical procedures annually, while also ensuring on-call emergency services.
At the Bethlen Street Outpatient Clinic, outpatient ophthalmology care for both adults and children is provided on the second floor in five consultation rooms, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
At the Kenézy Campus, our staff welcomes outpatients at four outpatient units, and the specialized clinics are also located here. On the sixth floor of the Campus, ophthalmic surgical procedures are performed in three operating theatres, supported by a 20-bed inpatient background facility.
Our highly qualified specialists, working in cooperation with related medical disciplines, provide comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical care across the full spectrum of ophthalmic diseases, including:
- cataract
- glaucoma
- childhood refractive errors
- amblyopia
- strabismus
- ophthalmic complications associated with internal medical diseases
- ocular inflammations
- diseases of the ocular surface and eyelids
- retinal detachment
- treatment of trauma affecting the eye and surrounding structures
