The Balneotherapy Centre of the University of Debrecen Clinical Centre is located in the Aquaticum Thermal Bath, which is in the heart of the Great Forest in Debrecen. We provide healing and rehabilitation for our patients utilizing the thermal water and the therapeutic climate available in the Thermal Bath.
Our thermal water, which is rich in valuable organic and inorganic substances and the wide range of our physiotherapy treatments associated with that thermal water is particularly suitable for treating:
- musculoskeletal discord
- gynaecological problems
- neurological diseases
- specific skin conditions
- rehabilitation following traumatological care e.g. fractures, post-prosthetic surgery.
Based on these indications we offer numerous opportunities for cooperation with related medical specialities to support our patients' recovery in the clinical unit.
Our department operates with four rheumatologists. The department also provides balneotherapy services. Following a specialist examination we determine the complex balneo-physiotherapy treatment plan for arriving patients and ensure the continuous follow-up of our long-term patients.
In our nationally certified medicinal spa patients can benefit from:
- thermal pools and mud treatment
- carbonic acid baths
- medical massage and underwater jet massage
- underwater remedial gymnastics.
In addition to balneotherapy a wide spectrum of physiotherapy is available in our centre. Our physiotherapists work with patients in both individual and group remedial gymnastic sessions.
In our balneotherapy clinic we provide care for both insured and private(self-paying) patients to determine the most effective therapy. The Balneotherapy Centre has a national care mandate for balneotherapy services therefore we welcome patients seeking recovery from all over the country.
