The long-standing tradition of genetic diagnostics at the University of Debrecen has been given a new, unified institutional framework within the Clinical Genetics Centre, established on July 1, 2025. Our Centre is dedicated to applying the most advanced genetic knowledge to patient care, which we achieve through the continuous development and expansion of our diagnostic tools.
We enhance our professional expertise by regularly participating in national and international conferences, where the results of the active research conducted at our Center are also presented. In order to ensure high-quality diagnostics and patient care, our institution regularly takes part in international quality assurance assessments.
At our institution, patient care is provided through several specialized clinics, including Prenatal, Pediatric, and General Genetic Counseling. Our services cover, among others, the investigation of intrauterine abnormalities, congenital developmental disorders, hereditary cardiological, nephrological, and neurological conditions, as well as inherited tumor predisposition syndromes.
Our goal is to provide our patients with accurate, clear, and personalized information regarding hereditary diseases, developmental disorders, and genetic risks.
