The complete range of hematological care is available at our institute. We provide regional care for non-malignant hematological diseases. We are a regional center for malignant onco-hematology patients (lymphoma, leukemia, aplastic anaemia, myelodysplastic syndrome). Apart from this we are a national center for haemopoetic stem cell transplantation. Autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation of these patients (the latter since May 2016) is available in our Hematopoietic Transplantation Center. The center has JACIE accreditation to provide the highest level of service, and we are among the 2 centers in Hungary that are licensed to administer CAR-T cell therpy. The center is also able to provide cell based therapy for transplant related viral diseases.
Our Thrombosis and Hemostasis Center provides care on the regional level for severe thromboembolism and patients with inherited bleeding disorders. The examination, and in case necessary the care, of hematological and non-hematological rare diseases is provided on the national level.
The department operates outpatient clinics in line with the above profiles. The department treats more than 6,000 inpatients and more than 35,000 outpatients a year.
In the last 60 years the department building became partly outdated thus using an EU grant (TIOP 2.2.7.) it went through major extension and development. Since 2011 such a modern facility was opened that helps providing even better care for patients in a way that meets the requirements of the 21st century in all aspects.
