The István Hatvani College for Advanced Studies is a talent management workshop of the University of Debrecen founded in 1997. Members of the college are students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Science and Technology, and the Faculty of Informatics.
The college offers its own courses for which students can get credits. These include, for example, New Trends in Modern Scholarship which has been offered for more than a decade now and which tries to contribute to achieving the basic goal of the college of establishing a dialogue between the different disciplines, i.e. encouraging interdisciplinary research. One of the unique academic projects of the college that has been running for years is a regional research and reconstruction program, which aims at the interdisciplinary study of the Bihari-Hegyköz and Érmellék regions bearing in mind both scholarly endeavors and social responsibility.
The college also considers cooperation with other colleges of advanced studies in neighboring countries to be a priority as well exemplified by the fact that students of colleges from other countries also publish in the volumes of the István Hatvani College for Advanced Studies, from which the collection titled “Out trends…” has been published annually since 2012.
