The Blessed Teresa Catholic College for Advanced Studies was founded in 1996 by the School Sisters of Notre Dame. It became a college for advanced studies in 2006 with specialization in women’s studies.
Ever since its foundation the college has been dedicated to helping those Christian women intellectuals realize their full potential who are devoted to serving their community, society and church in their personal and professional life faithfully and with human integrity and commitment. Students of the college, besides performing their professional and academic duties, also have to work consciously on their personal development during their university years, focusing on community life, social sensitivity, and spiritual/psychological development.
The college for advanced studies facilitates this through various programs organized by it and by establishing the framework for an ecumenical Christian community life also supported by its own study program. To introduce the academic work of the college, its own peer-reviewed journal was started in 2015.
This college for advanced studies is the only Christian (ecumenical) Hungarian academic spiritual-intellectual-community workshop focusing on women’s studies in Hungary and the Carpathian Basin, which is open to university students from different disciplines. The students of the college for advanced studies accept the study schedule when applying and admitted to the college.
