Department of Psychiatry

Currently, we primarily use psychotherapeutic tools at the Department of Psychiatry. The main objective of patient care is to restore psychological functions as fully as possible. The psychotherapy department has 22 places for rehabilitation and the daytime-care hospital can accommodate 11 patients visiting the institution regularly. The regional care for outpatients is provided at specialized outpatient clinics (mood disorders, panic disorder, gerontopsychology, addiction treatment, psychotherapy). We offer professional consultation for all other departments of the clinical center. The weekly program is created based on the work of four psychiatrists, four psychologists, eight nurses, and four psychotherapy assistants. The operation of the inpatient and day-time care divisions is separated. In the inpatient division, besides the three weekly cognitive behavior therapy groups, once a week there is relaxation, mindfulness, anxiety, problem-solving, fairy tale, music, and animal assisted therapy. There are also morning exercises and creative workshops every day. Patients at the day-time care hospital can participate in diverse socio-therapeutic sessions with a psychotherapeutic approach. The therapy of a patient lasts for at least four weeks and it can be extended. Patients participating in the program can realize significant changes in their way of thinking as a result of therapy, they report changes in their personal relationships, their communication skills are improved, along with their ability to handle stress, which enables them to return to their original living space and work more successfully, or to look for new job opportunities.
