We strive to treat patients, as much as possible, within the framework of outpatient services, without hospitalization in line with modern professional principles and social expectations. Outpatients are treated in six doctor’s offices in our outpatient clinic. We have managed to reduce waiting time significantly with the introduction of appointments. The use of orthopedic services requires referrals and are provided based on appointment. Referrals can be given by a GP or another specialist. Urgent cases are managed without appointment. We provide a wide range of conservative treatments for our patients. Thy can use medical gymnastics and physiotherapy services as inpatients and outpatients as well. We write a customized therapy plan for our patients, which is carried out under strict medical supervision. Conservative treatment is provided in our gym designed specifically for this purpose. Our physiotherapists are highly qualified and experienced professionals providing treatment for individuals and groups as well.
Our department provides all modern orthopedic services with an operative approach. Sixty one beds are available for inpatients, with two beds available for fee-paying patient care.
We offer the following therapies at the department:
- Childhood screening, conservative and surgical treatment of diagnosed diseases (hip dislocation, the treatment of clubfoot with the Ponseti method, scoliosis, posture problems, foot deformities).
- Surgical treatment of degenerative, traumatic, and rheumatic musculoskeletal diseases (hip, knee, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, spine).
- Knee, shoulder, ankle joint arthroscopy.
- Arthroscopic cruciate ligament replacement, Mosaicplasty, cartilage implant.
- Hip, knee, shoulder replacement.
- Treating prosthetic complications, revisions with implants developed specially for this purpose. We provide this service as a regional center. We treat patients from the Northern Great Plain region and if necessary the entire country.
- Conservative and surgical treatment of scoliosis.
- Surgical treatment of degenerative diseases of the spine (e.g. vertebrae misalignment, spinal stenosis).
- Surgical treatment of differences in limb length.
- Reconstructive surgery of musculo-skeletal deformities.
- Provision of medical devices and the teaching of their use.
We use excellent quality implants from internationally-recognized producers. Besides the traditional procedures, we have also introduced several state-of-the-art technologies, including minimally-invasive surgery and computer controlled surgical navigation. The four well-equipped operating theatres of the Department of Orthopedics are suitable for the surgical treatment of practically all musculoskeletal problems. Endoprosthesis implantation is carried out in one of the newest operating rooms in Eastern Hungary.
